Tottenham Hotspur have just made a “new proposal” for a “beast” who has a £52m release clause, with talks over personal terms currently ongoing.
Frank looking to make three new signings before deadline
It would be fair to say Tottenham’s summer transfer window has been mixed, as while Mohammed Kudus has made a flying start to life in north London, Thomas Frank is yet to get a new attacking midfielder through the door.

Spurs are hoping to sign the 23-year-old on an initial loan deal, which would include an obligation to buy for a fee of €60m (£52m), which is the same value as the release clause in his contract with Bayer Leverkusen.
Hincapie's versatility means he could be ideal addition for Frank
With Frank keen on bringing in another centre-back before the deadline, the Leverkusen star could be the ideal addition to the squad, as he is experienced in Europe, and played a major role in the German club’s Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal triumphs.
The Ecuadorian has now racked up 40 appearances across the Europa League and Champions League, and received high praise from former Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso during the title-winning 2023-24 campaign, in which he made 26 league appearances.
Alonso said: “I think he’s a very modern defender, he can play in different positions. He’s served us as a full-back in recent games but has also been the left centre-back when we’ve played with a back three.”
As such, the defender, who has been hailed as a “beast” by scout Antonio Mango could be a versatile option for Frank in defence, which is useful, given that it would be difficult to displace Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the starting line-up.
