Mbappe ended up signing a new deal at Parc des Princes in May 2022, but that agreement is due to expire this summer and there has been no sign of another renewal being put in place as yet, with Real Madrid still eager to bring him onto their books.

Real are now aiming to force Mbappe's hand, having reportedly set a mid-January deadline for the 25-year-old to make a final decision on his future. PSG are expecting another big offer from the Spanish giants in the coming days, and according to , they have already "drawn up budgets and plans" in preparation for the potential departure of their star forward.

The report adds that PSG are still eager for Mbappe to stay put and they haven't given up hope of tying him to another new contract, although they won't be pressured into overpaying. The Ligue 1 champions would save around €40m (£35m/$44m) in wages if Mbappe does join Real this month, but they are currently in talks to extend the contract of his brother Ethan, which could have a bearing on his final decision.
